Thermal and Mechanical Design

For over 70 years, Manning & Lewis has been known for its advanced thermal design. Using the latest in design software, including the most up-to-date versions of computational analysis tools, as well as our many years of practical experience, our engineers are able to design efficient, cost effective heat exchangers.

  • Our Thermal Design department has designed units for use with, among others:
  • Organic and Inorganic Acids
  • Ethanol
  • Alcohols
  • Ammonia
  • Food Oils
  • Red/Green/Black Liquor
  • Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)
  • Petro-Chemicals
  • and many others...
But thermal design is only half the challenge. The Mechanical and Production Departments at M & L are well versed with:
  • Carbon Steels
  • Stainless Steels
  • Duplex Steels
  • Incolloy ©
  • Inconel ©
  • Hastelloy ©
  • Alloy 20
  • Alloy 2205
  • Nickel and Nickel Alloys
  • Copper Nickel
  • Brass
  • Monel
  • and many others...

Manning & Lewis integrates the thermal and mechanical departments to produce quality reboilers, condensers, vaporizers, kettles, and steam heaters. In addition to all these customized units, we also provide stock boiler water sample coolers as well as fuel oil heaters.

Building on our solid foundations, we are pushing towards the future with new designs. In particular, two of our strongest areas are the design and construction of Falling Film Evaporators and LNG Vaporizers and Superheaters. We have many of each type currently in service and operating successfully.

Manning & Lewis is a proud member of

ASME-American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Not only do we follow the codes of the professional societies to which we belong, we can also build to many others, including:

  • PED
  • ANSI Piping Codes
  • API Codes (including API 660)
  • AWS Practices
  • Canadian Province Regulations
  • U. S. Navy
  • U. S. Coast Guard
  • American Bureau of Shipping
  • and others...
